The Ephesians Breakdown: CHRIST

The Book of Ephesians
And be ye kind one to another,
tenderhearted,
forgiving one another,

even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.

Ephesians 4:32

Chapter 1
(He is the Unifying Factor)

Having made known unto us the mystery of his will,
vs. 9
    ------Which is------
In whom we have
1) redemption through his blood,
2) the forgiveness of sins,
according to the riches of his grace;
vs. 7
All united in & through & by CHRIST
That in the dispensation of the fulness of times
he might gather together in one all things in Christ,
both which are in heaven,
and which are on earth;
even in him:
vs. 10
Chapter 2
(Before & After HIS Grace)

....Before HIS Grace....
Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, ...
Among whom also we all had our conversation
in times past in the lusts of our flesh,
fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind;
vs. 2,3
....After HIS Grace....
Even when we were dead in sins,
hath quickened us together with Christ,
(by grace ye are saved;)
vs. 5

UNITED around the Promised Messiah (Christ)
Both true believing Jews & gentiles brought together
to form this new Church
.......Before Christ.......
That at that time ye were without Christ,
being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel,
and strangers from the covenants of promise,
having no hope,
and without God in the world:
vs. 12
.......After Christ.......
But now in Christ Jesus
ye who sometimes were far off
are made nigh by the blood of Christ.
vs. 13
The BREAKDOWN
 ...and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;
vs. 14
Chapter 3
(The Love of God)

Paul humbly demonstrates the Love of God
as in the Law (for God & his neighbor--for that is what the Law hangs on)
Wherefore I desire that ye faint not at my tribulations for you,
For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,
vs. 13-15
Understanding the measurement of Love
That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith;
that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,
May be able to comprehend with all saints
what is the breadth,
and length,
and depth,
and height;
And to know the love of Christ,
which passeth knowledge,
that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.
vs. 17-19
Chapter 4
(One Image--HIS)

....One....
One Lord,
one faith,
one baptism,
vs. 5
He ascended to heaven (as many of us will one day at the resurrection)
When he ascended up on high,
he led captivity captive,
vs. 8
But first He descended into the grave (as many of us will one day)
 what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?
vs. 9
SANCTIFICATION (Being modeled in the image of God)
And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
And that ye put on the new man,
which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
vs. 23,24

Chapter 5
(God's Laundromat-Wrinkle Free)
That he might present it to himself a glorious church,
not having spot, or wrinkle,
or any such thing;
but that it should be holy and without blemish.
vs. 27
How to be WRINKLE free
And walk in love,
as Christ also hath loved us,
and hath given himself for us an offering
and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.
And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness,
but rather reprove them.
vs. 2,11
Chapter 6
(The Armor of God)
Put on the whole armour of God,
that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth,
and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
Above all, taking the shield of faith,
wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
And take the helmet of salvation,
and the sword of the Spirit,
which is the word of God:
vs. 11,14-17
Know your ENEMY
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood,
but against principalities, against powers,
against the rulers of the darkness of this world,
against spiritual wickedness in high places.
vs. 12
********************************

That in the ages to come
he might shew the
exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
