French Revolution in Revelation

And I will give power unto my two witnesses,
and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days,
clothed in sackcloth.

These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth.
Revelation 11:3,4
The 2 Witnesses are the Old & New Testament. (Bible). They are clothed in sackcloth during the 1260 days (years) of Papal persecution because this is a dark period  in within Christendom.

And when they shall have finished their testimony,

the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them,

and shall overcome them, and kill them.

And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city,

which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt,
where also our Lord was crucified.
Revelation 11:7,8
This power is spiritually like Egypt-atheistic towards God. (1st ATHEISTIC statement in Scripture given - And Pharaoh said, Who is the LORD, that I should obey his voice to let Israel go? I know not the LORD, neither will I let Israel go. Exodus 5:2). As for SODOM-France established by law during their Revolution fornication. As for crucifying the Lord-in 1572 they slaughtered tens of thousands of Huguenots during the Bartholomew Day Massacre. Also, the motto in France during the Revolution was "CRUSH THE WRETCH" referring to Christ. They also abolished the 7 day week cycle (because of its roots in the Bible) and set up a 10 day week. Reason was worshiped in place of God & churches were closed & mass book burnings were held of religious books. The Bible was banned.....
And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations
shall see their dead bodies three days and an half,
and shall not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves.
And they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them,
and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another;
because these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the earth.
And after three days and an half the Spirit of life from God entered into them,
and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which saw them.
Revelation 11:9-11
Using the day-for-a-year principle in prophecy---3 & a half days = 3 & a half years. From November of 1793 to June of 1797. November 1793 is when Gobet & some Catholic priests began the revolt towards atheism in Paris. And in June 1797 began the implementation of the document Revision of the Laws Relative to Worship - which brought back freedom of religion.
And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them,
Come up hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud;
and their enemies beheld them.
Revelation 11:12
In 1804 began the British Bible Society followed by the American Bible Society in 1816 taking the Bible around the world in the peoples native languages. The Bible surely "ascended up" as their atheistic enemies beheld.

As France threw off God & religion, their atheistic state resulted in a bloodbath, especially in Paris. The French Revolution was really a multi-way civil war and experiment in atheism.
Oct. 5, 1793. The revolutionary calendar was established making weeks of 10 days.

Marquis de Sade,
a genuine pervert elevated as
a delegate to the National Council

Also, France in 1793, allowed all nonjuring priests to be killed on sight (the nonjuring priests were those clergy who didn't swear an oath of loyalty to the civil constitution). Other events included the public spanking of nuns at a hospital in Paris.

Jacobins, the Cult of Reason, Robespierre, election of the Marquis de Sade as a delegate to the National Convention (Sade was an extreme sex addict from where we get the term "sadist"), the REIGN OF TERROR, the September massacres and the goddess of reason are just some of the terms relating to the French Revolution.

Reign of Terror
 "1793, the French Revolution enters its most violent and turbulent phase when the Jacobins seized control of the National Convention from the more moderate Girondins and instituted a series of radical measures, including the establishment of a new calendar and the eradication of Christianity. They also unleashed the bloody Reign of Terror (“la Terreur”), a 10-month period in which suspected enemies of the revolution were guillotined by the thousands. Many of the killings were carried out under orders from Robespierre, who dominated the draconian Committee of Public Safety until his own execution on July 28, 1794. His death marked the beginning of the Thermidorian Reaction, a moderate phase in which the French people revolted against the Reign of Terror’s excesses." HistoryChannel
