Gospel Discrepancy? Inscription on Cross...

This title then read many of the Jews:
for the place where Jesus was crucified was nigh to the city:
and it was written in
Hebrew, and
ישוע נצריא מלכא דיהודיא
Greek, and
OUTOS ESTIN O BASILEUS TWN IOUDAIWN.
Latin.
 IESUS NAZARENVS REX IVDAEORVM.
John 19:20

THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS. Matthew 27:37
THE KING OF THE JEWS. Mark 15:26
THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS. Luke 23:38
JESUS OF NAZARETH THE KING OF THE JEWS. John 19:19

There is a very simple explanation....each Gospel writer is giving us part of the complete inscription...
Matthew "This is Jesus [of Nazareth] the King of the Jews."
Mark "[This is Jesus of Nazareth] the King of the Jews."
Luke "This is [Jesus of Nazareth] the King of the Jews."
John "[This is] Jesus of Nazareth the King of the Jews."

"There are many things apparently difficult or obscure, which God will make plain and simple to those who thus seek an understanding of them. But without the guidance of the Holy Spirit we shall be continually liable to wrest the Scriptures or to misinterpret them. Those who look to the Scriptures to find discrepancies, have not spiritual insight. With distorted vision they will see many causes for doubt and unbelief in things that are really plain and simple." Steps To Christ Ch. 11, E.G.W.
