"Play the Man"....

Hugh Latimer (preacher) & Nicolas Ridley (Bishop of London) were burned at the stake together--back to back by Queen Mary who was the Catholic Queen of England known as "Bloody Mary" for her persecutions of protestants.
The nearly 80 year old Latimer shouted out in the flames to Ridley - "Be of good comfort, Master Ridley, and play the man; we shall this day light such a candle, by God's grace, in England, as I trust shall never be put out."
Latimer died first, but Ridley lingered longer in agony as his legs burned off first before the rest of him was even touched by the flames. This moved hundreds in the crowd to tears.
That candle was lit....

Well done, good and faithful servant;
