Luther over the coffin

Her portrait, painted by Cranach,
is seen still in the room where she was lying,

When Luther's young daughter Magdelene died in his arms he was overcome.
At her funeral he said over her coffin "She will rise again at the last day."


For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
