Religious Liberty - diadem of earthly potentates

"This principle we in our day are firmly to maintain. The banner of truth and religious liberty held aloft by the founders of the gospel church and by God's witnesses during the centuries that have passed since then, has, in this last conflict, been committed to our hands. A "Thus saith the Lord" is not to be set aside for a "Thus saith the church" or a "Thus saith the state." The crown of Christ is to be lifted above the diadems of earthly potentates."
Acts of the Apostles p.68,69 E.G.W.

This is why all Christians should defend the right of the Catholic Church in opposing being forced to pay for birth control against their religious belief as an institution. (I believe the Catholic Church is wrong-but it is about liberty of conscious). And why all Christians should oppose politicians who are attempting to force churches and Christians who own businesses to pay for abortion in healthcare coverage against their religious conviction.

Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said,
We ought to obey God rather than men.
