Going Astray in (spiritualistic) Folly

"The field into which Satan led our first parents is the same to which he is alluring men today.
He is flooding the world with pleasing fables.
By every device at his command he tempts men to speculate in regard to God.
Thus he seeks to prevent them from obtaining that knowledge of God which is salvation.

Today there are coming into educational institutions and into the churches everywhere spiritualistic teachings that undermine faith in God and in His word. The theory that God is an essence pervading all nature is received by many who profess to believe the Scriptures; but, however beautifully clothed, this theory is a most dangerous deception.
It misrepresents God and is a dishonor to His greatness and majesty.

And it surely tends not only to mislead,                                                                    but to debase men.

Darkness is its element,
sensuality its sphere.

The result of accepting it is separation from God.

The spiritualistic theories concerning God make His grace of no effect.
If God is an essence pervading all nature, then He dwells in all men;
and in order to attain holiness, man has only to develop the power within him.

These theories,
followed to their logical conclusion,
sweep away the whole Christian economy.
They do away with the necessity for the atonement and make man his own savior."
Ministry of Healing p.427,428 E.G.W.

His own iniquities shall take the wicked himself,
and he shall be holden with the cords of his sins.
He shall die without instruction;
and in the greatness of his folly he shall go astray.
Proverbs 5:22,23

Below is the Poole "Christian" Spiritualist Church & a description from their website---seems these spiritualistic churches are growing, especially in the UK for some reason.

"The goals of our Church is to provide an atmosphere conducive to the practice of the gifts of Mediumship and Healing, to promote the religion of Spiritualism, and assist, where possible, in enquiries as to our way of Life.

We uphold and follow the 7 principles of Spiritualism
1. The Fatherhood of God.
2. The brotherhood of Man
3. Communion of spirits and the ministry of angels
4. The continuous existence of the soul
5. Personal responsibility
6. Compensation and retribution hereafter for all the good and evil done on earth.
7. eternal progress open to every soul
And, as Christian Spiritualists, also uphold
8. the leadership of jesus Christ.

At each of our services, both Sunday and Wednesday, we have in attendance a Medium whom, through the gift of Mediumship, will endeavour to provide evidence of the continuation of the spirit after that which we call Death."

Disclaimer-The above is NOT what I believe--it is what their "church" believes as posted on their website

Recently pastor Rob Bell, known for his emergent Church sympathies, caused controversy in some Christian circles, when he encouraged the youth to read the writings of new ager Ken Wilber who came up with "Integral Theory". It is supposed to be a "Theory of Everything" for spirituality.
President Clinton claimed Wilber as an influence over him. Hmmm... explains a few things..Anyway, Here is an example of the psycho-babbel spiritualistic beliefs being encouraged to be studied by "pastors" like Rob Bell today- "Integral Life Practice (ILP) is no-nonsense, practical application of the Integral model that helps you to authentically exercise all aspects or dimensions of your own being-in-the-world. ILP teaches 4 core modules – body, mind, spirit and shadow – as well as 5 or so auxiliary modules – ethics, yoga of relationships, karma yoga, transforming emotions, and sexual yoga – and dozens of potential electives. Grounded in hundreds of transformative practices, East and West, ILP allows you to take anything you're already doing and place it within a comprehensive framework that finally makes sense of it." by spiritualist KenWilber

What kinda Pyscho-babbel NONSENSE was that? And shadows? Huh? Karma yoga?

But this poison is entering slowly the SDA Church too through the progressive Adventists, such as the Spectrum crowd as posted in march of 2012- "The answer involves my recent discovery of research into the evolution of consciousness. Also known as “developmental psychology,” this body of knowledge illuminates the way our minds and perspectives develop over time. Interestingly, this growth tends to mirror the development of world views that social groups go though over time. Ken Wilber has popularized this understanding, building on the work of seminal researchers like Claire Graves." Spectrum (no surprise there)
And SHAME here where I live, on the Ohio Conference leadership who brought in the likes of Leonard Sweet to speak a while back. He is a supporter of Ken Wilber. With all due respect-whoever in the Ohio Conference that made that choice-and stuck by it-should be fired-sorry....Scroll back up and read how Mr. Wilber describes his views then try & justify not firing the Ohio leadership responsible for bringing Wilber sympathizers, who are not even members of the Church, in here to speak to the Church....GO on....What FOLLY ........
