Politics of "Coveting"

Today in politics, not just overseas marxist & Socialists, but here in the U.S., even in the 21st century, some use coveting via class warfare for votes. Appealing to ones jealousy of what someone else has more of, and hinting at "leveling" the playing field by taking from one group and transfering wealth to another.
Even in the 21st century the violation of the 10th Commandment
is encouraged by some in the political debate
"The deadly sin that led to Achan's ruin had its roots in covetousness, of all sins one of the most common and the most lightly regarded. While other offences meet with detection and punishment, how rarely does the 10th commandment so much as call forth censure. Covetousness is an evil of gradual development." Patriarchs & Prophets p.496 E.G.W.

Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's.
Exodus 20:17
