A Page from Papal History-Papal Corpse Trial

The Papcay (Little Horn of Daniel and Beast of Revelation) has done some pretty strange and blasphemous things over their long rule...but this is one of the strangest. In 892 A.D., about 9 months after Pope Formosus died, Pope Stephen VI ordered his body dug up and brought to the Papal court to stand trial. The body was seated on a chair and the corpse was given a lawyer to provide for his defense. The real reason behind this weird and disgusting affair was politics. Pope Formosus had been of the "German faction" politically in Rome and had orchestrated for the German king to intervene in Italy militarily. The new Pope was an ally of the "Spoleto faction" who hated Formosus with a passion. Formosus was convicted of violating canon law, perjury and serving as a lay person rather as a bishop as he said he had been before becoming Pope. The corpse was found guilty and had 3 fingers cut off and tied to wieghts then put in the Tiber River. Later pope John IX reversed the findings of the court and decreed that no more trials of dead corpses be allowed. ----where was God in any of their hearts during this spectacle?
