Was Plato right about one thing?

Personally, I'm not a fan of the pagan Plato. While in college I had to study both Plato & Aristotle. I leaned more toward Aristotle than Plato. To me, Plato was a bit of a marxist in his worldview. Also, much paganism entered Christianity from Platonic thinking, especially around the time of Augustine.
Having said that, Plato did say one thing that makes sense: "We can easily forgive a child who is afraid of the dark: the real tragedy of life is when men are afraid of the light."

And the light shineth in darkness;
and the darkness comprehended it not.
