Creation Moment 1/3/2012 - The Vatican & Evolution

The Vatican believes that evolution is compatible with Christianity. (Which of course it isn't). The Vatican also backed a conference to mark the 150th anniversary of Darwins origen of the Species at the Pontifical Gregorian University. They stated they would downplay intelligent design because it points to a Creator.
Before he became Pope Benedict he hsa stated on the subject-
"Since it has been demonstrated that all living organisms on earth are genetically related, it is virtually certain that all living organisms have descended from this first organism. Converging evidence from many studies in the physical and biological sciences furnishes mounting support for some theory of evolution to account for the development and diversification of life on earth, while controversy continues over the pace and mechanisms of evolution."
Also there was this from the conference- "In addition to intelligent design, creationism has come under disdain at the conference. In his opening address, Cardinal William Levada, head of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, spoke dismissively of fundamentalist Christians in the U.S. who want schools to teach biblical creationism alongside, or instead of, evolution." Of course from the Word of God we hear this- And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; Genesis 2:2
