SANCTIFICATION is a work that takes time. It is something that happens on a daily basis. A changed life. It is conforming to the will of God. I protest by your rejoicing which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily. 1 Corinthians 15:31 This is where the Law comes in-to hold up as a mirror daily and see the reflection of your soul-to see if your living up to the word of God. Your soul merges over time with Christ. Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. John 17:17 As Christ said Give us this day our daily bread. Matthew 6:11 You see in your life a change- For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. Galatians 5:17, 22-24
A wise woman once wrote - "Those who claim to be sanctified, while they have no desire to search the scriptures or to wrestle with God in prayer for a clearer understanding of Bible truth, know not what true sanctification is." The Sanctified Life p.48 E.G.W.
And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:13 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. Revelation 3:20 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: Matthew 7:7
Again, a wise woman once wrote “If we ever reach Heaven, it will be by linking our souls to Christ, leaning upon Him, and cutting loose from the world, its follies and enchantments.” Testimonies for the Church Vo. 6 p.148 E.G.W.
An example of a sanctified life was Daniel. Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime. Daniel 6:10 Being sanctified means getting ready for heaven, for if you have no desire here to obey and follow God, why would you in heaven?
